I was told “get a career so you can get a high paying job” and “I’ve been with this company for (x)yrs and I’ve connected with the right people to set my paying price.”

From that story, I have learned learned that money means you have the right connections and skills to get a higher than average paying job and that your time/persona has a high value.

The pressure of this narrative shows up when I tell myself that I’m not good enough before anyone else gets the chance. I’ve been hesitant to learn new skills and get out of my comfort zone. It’s also cost me my authenticity/identity/higher potential.

Today I want to believe that sharing my gifts and heart desires and connecting with the right people and earning a living by doing so is possible.
